THE COMPETITOR’S SUCCESSES OF THE 2nd

Applicants of the 2nd shift of the final competitions

Split- August, 7th 2008 (Thursday) – at the second final shift of the finals of the Bistra Youth Sports Games organized from August 4 to 7, 450 of children and youth from all over the Croatia have participated. The winners were wanted in the handball (born 1990 and younger, both male and female competition), the tennis, the beach volleyball and for the first time this year in the indoor soccer female competition. The cups and medals for the best handball players and the best indoor soccer female players were awarded by the players of the Croatian Soccer Team Hajduk Drago Gabrić and Tomislav Bušić, and for the best volleyball players by Vladimir Balić, the goalkeeper of the Hajduk. In this way we successfully ended another sports event that lasted for four days, and another one is expecting us already next week.

Alastair Campbell has become an Ambass

Alastair Campbell, one of the best known communications experts in the world, has agreed to become an Ambassador for the Youth Sports Games. Campbell was the director for communications and strategy of British premier Tony Blair (from 1994. until 2003.) He remains an advisor to the Labour Party in Britain, in addition to his work as a writer, strategist and advisor to a number of charities and campaigns. He agreed to become an Ambassador following a meeting in London with Co president of the Youth Sports Games Slaven Marić.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 13th BISTRA YOUTH

Medals

Applications for the 13th Bistra Youth Sports Games begin on the 1st May 2009. The interested parties can apply in the management of the Games in Split on 021/ 541-454, 541-455, 541-448 or by visiting the web page www.igremladih.org until the 10th June 2009. All elementary and secondary school students who have formed their own team or wish to compete in individual sports regardless if they are members of a sports or school team can apply.

Inauguration of the 13th Bistra youth

For the thirteenth year in a row, this manifestation will gather more than 40 000 children and youths throughout Croatia in well-organized competitions. The town of Križevci has recongnized the significance and value of this project and will host this year's Games. The inauguration of the 13th Bistra youth sports games, the biggest amateur sports manifestation, will be held on June 6th in Križevci on the central town square J.J.Strossmayer.

13th Bistra youth sports games inaugur

The biggest amateur sports manifestation in Croatia, 13th Bistra youth sports games was inaugurated on Saturday, 6th June, in Križevci on the central town square J.J.Strossmayer. Numerous citizens were able to enjoy in the all-day sport and amusement programme which started at 12 o’clock noon with football and basketball games. Strengths were measured in the real sport spirit and various sponsor products and prizes were distributed.

Erhard Busek, Bistra-Youth Sport Games

Board of Bistra-Youth Sport Games met with Mr Erhard Busek, Special Coordinator of Stability Pact for SE Europe, and have introduced him with Games Project.Mr Busek agreed to become Ambassador of the Games and Stability Pact for SE Europe will carry out the regionalization of the Games, said Mr Josip Buljan, member of Organizational Committee of the Games.
