ABOUT YOUTH SPORTS GAMES

school students to participate in organized sports competitions and
other free activities during the summer was the primary goal when
the Youth Sports Games were organized for the first time in 1996.
The idea grew, and competition has become the largest amateur
sports event in this part of Europe.
It was organized under the auspices of the International Olympic
Committee and World Football Federation and the honorary patronage
of the Croatian President, the Prime Minister of Croatia and
President of the Croatian Parliament.
Support for the Games was given by the eminent names from the
sporting, political and economic life (the ambassadors of the
Games): Sir Dave Richards, President of the Premier League is the
honorary president of the Youth Sports Games, while the roles of
honorary vice-presidents are entrusted to Goran Ivanisevic and
Slaven Bilic.
Children and young people in all counties across the Croatian are
given a possibility of free participation in competitions, and for
the most successful individuals and teams there is a free
mini-vacation at Split organized for the participants in the Final.
This excellent idea about the sports and entertainment began to
spread and reached the neighboring countries. The program's
long-term event-related promotional and educational campaign, "Live
life without drugs because drugs take life".
Youth Sports Games promote lifestyles which are based on mutual
understanding, friendship, solidarity and fair play, an alternative
to all possible negative factors today that are in a distinct way
reflecting on the population of children and adolescents.
From year to year, the response of children is increasing, and the
quality of the organization has reached its highest level. Children
and young people from 7-18 years old are invited to be part of
Youth Sports Games, the most beautiful sport story in Croatia and
beyond.
